When my husband Seth came to me and first told me about the possibility of moving to Mexico I jumped at the opportunity and said LETS DO THIS! It sounded new and exciting and a once in a lifetime experience I couldn’t pass up. How could I say no to an opportunity like this? Sure, I had my reservations, I would be leaving everything I knew…most importantly our friends and family. I would be going from having people I love close to me to now having them miles away from …1,578 miles to be exact. But this is where I liked the idea, Seth and I would be forced to move away from what we knew to create our own journey together an adventure that was all ours, an opportunity for us to grow closer as a couple and as a family.
After much consideration and discussing we made the choice to move forward and officially move to Querétaro, Mexico. Nobody said it would be easy! Traveling with a 2-year-old and 6-month old is not a cake walk…oh, lets not forget our labradoodle Simon (that was a process in itself) After a few tantrums, airport sprints, and a long custom line we made it to our new home. All 4 of us including our fur child, Simon. Life so far here has been a roller coaster of emotions. We have had to deal with not knowing simple things like where to go for groceries or more complicated things like a husband having kidney stones and babies getting sick…life doesn’t stop just because you move to another country, it continues to spin the same way it did when we were in Indiana. However, with the challenging times we have had a great support system, from afar and from right here in Querétaro. Along with the bad there is always a bright side, we now know what to do in an emergency and I’ve found this great app called CornerShopApp that delivers groceries right to my front door…not so bad huh? To sum it all up, I am really enjoying the experience so far and am ready to see where the next 3 years lead us.
