Dust in my coffee?

March 7, 2018

Here lately the craze has been to put supplements in your smoothies, coffee, water, etc. Anything to help boost energy, beauty, your mood… you name it, it’s out there. When I started hearing about different dusts that Moon Juice provides it sparked my interest and I wanted to see what all the hype was about. What exactly do these adaptogenic blends of super herbs have to offer?  After going to Moon Juice and seeing the different varieties they had, I picked Beauty Dust and Spirit Dust. Who doesn’t love the thought of youthful skin, shiny hair and a concoction made up for a spirit lifting mood? At least those are two things I’ll take!

Beauty Dust

Active ingredients include: pearl, goji berry, schisandra berry, rehmannia root, ashwagandha root, alma berry, and organic stevia

All are said (minus the stevia that was placed there to help enhance the taste) help combat the effects of stress to expand your beauty, luster, and glow from within, according to moon juice. I had asked an esthetician once what her take was on all the supplements and if she could recommend one what it would be? Her answer was anything with pearl. I dug a little deeper just to see what the magic of pearl was and what I found was that it accelerates new skin growth, regenerates collagen, prevents skin aging, reduces fine lines, minimizes pores and the list of benefits continue on. When I saw the the beauty dust contained pearl in it, it only gave me even more reason to try and confidence that it will work. After a month of using the product and putting it into my morning ritual I have to say I actually started seeing some changes. My skin was seeing less blemishes, I felt it showed a milkier tone, and my dryness that I have been complaining about since we moved to Mexico was finally disappearing.

Spirit Dust

Active ingredients include: goji berry, reishi mushroom, ashwagandha root, astragalus root, silk tree bark, longan berry, red rooted sage, organic stevia

Edible joy, as moon juice likes to refer this dust as. This dust is said to boost your mood, enhance your emotional well being, help you be less irritable, combat stress and helps you find the positive vibes you might be seeking. I began adding spirit dust to my coffee every morning. It became part of my everyday morning ritual.  I soon started feeling a sense of calmness. I was less stressed and had a more easy going mentality about me. I didn’t know if this was a placebo effect or if there was some evidence behind the ingredients this uplifting dust had?  So, I started doing my research, ashwagandha root is found as an active ingredient and its said to help reduce stress and anxiety. Longan berry has B1, B2, and B3 vitamins in it that all help play an important role in helping the nervous system, improves mental health, and overcoming tiredness and fatigue. I believe this answers my question, these herbs have some uplifting effects and it was working on me.

I was slightly hesitant to pay the 38 dollars for a jar containing only 1.5 ounces, however I was pleasantly surprised at how long each has lasted me. I usually put a teaspoon of each in my morning coffee or I add one to some water. For me each one tasted ok and the spirit kind of reminded me of a tea when I added it to just water. I plan to keep these as part of my daily routine and am not opposed to trying more.

I seriously was such a skeptic before I tried it, but I think it is worth the 38 dollars. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
